GOALS OF JRC WWW COMMUNICATION
BACK to Index

The main goals of the creation of the WWW Internet site of the Joint Research Centre are four:

b1_red.gif (860 bytes) To promote services, facilities and the products proposed by the Joint Research Centre to a large audience.
b1_red.gif (860 bytes) To allow the reader to find easily the information that he seeks, relating to the Joint Research Centre.
b1_red.gif (860 bytes) To develop in the publics eyes a qualitative and professional image of the Centre, in particular by means of its electronic communication.
b1_red.gif (860 bytes) To allow the authors to publish or to update their information in a simple and qualitative way.

To meet these aims, an overall solution, including the technical, editorial and artistic aspects was developed.
This ready solution to employment rests on a" charter "articulated in two major chapters:

b1_red.gif (860 bytes) An explanation of the adopted site structure, as well as its instructions.
b1_red.gif (860 bytes) An explanation of the adopted structure of the pages, as well as the instructions of the proposed graphic models.

We propose you respecting this structure as far as possible: it guarantees accessibility and the quality of the information in the long run that you produce; its respect contributes to the construction of a qualitative image of the Joint Research Centre; finally, it facilitates largely the publication of your information.
